Edit ﬁles.

COMBINE

Combine the selected ﬁle with another ﬁle on the same media to

create a new ﬁle.

Press COMBINE when the combine source les are

cued or paused.

The “File List” is displayed to select the combine target.

Rotate the jog dial to select the combine target le,

and press ENTER.

Combining starts.

•The ﬁle name of the ﬁle created by combining source ﬁles is

created according to the same rules as recording. For details, see

“File name” (vpage33).

•Files stored on other media cannot be combined.

•During combining, “Executing ... zzz%” (z: progress status) is

displayed.

•When the combination is complete, “Completed” is displayed.

•Select “Cancel” and press ENTER to cancel combining.

•The combined ﬁle is stored in the combination source folder.

•The ﬁles used in the combination remain unchanged.

NOTE

Combining cannot be performed in the following situations.

•When the selected media is write prohibited

•When there is not enough free space on the selected media

•Themaximumlesizeis2GB

•When the ﬁle format is a format other than WAV

•When the total number of ﬁles reaches 2000

•When the number of bits differs

•When the number of channels differs

•When the sampling rate differs

DIVIDE

The selected ﬁle is split into 2 ﬁles in the speciﬁed location.

Press DIVIDE during playback, cue or pause.

Displays “Divide?”.

Rotate the jog dial to select “OK”, and press ENTER.

Division starts.

•During the division, “Executing ... zzz%” (z: progress status)

is displayed.

•When the division is complete, “Completed” is displayed.

•Select “Cancel” and press

ENTER to cancel the division.

•“_A” is added to the previous le name for the rst part of the

dividedle.(Example:Whenaaa.mp3isdivided->aaa_A.mp3)

•“_B”isaddedtothepreviouslenameforthesecondpartofthe

dividedle.(Example:Whenaaa.mp3isdivided->aaa_B.mp3)

•The original ﬁle used in the division remains unchanged.

NOTE

Dividing cannot be performed in the following situations.

•When the selected media is write prohibited

•At the start point or end point of a ﬁle

•When the ﬁle format is a format other than WAV or MP3

•When the number of ﬁles reaches 1999

•When there is not enough free space on the selected media

•When the ﬁle name after division already exists
